FAQ

What does it cost to licence a track?

The track price (set by the artist) plus a 5% service fee. Track prices typically range from $50 for an IndieSynk licence to $2000+ for a StudioSynk licence. CustomSynk is per-deal. Personal Use is a fixed $1.99.

Can I licence music if I'm not signed up?

Yes. Checkout works whether you're signed in or signed out. If you check out signed out, your licence attaches to the email you used at Stripe. Sign up later with the same email to claim it.

Can artists take down their tracks?

Yes. Artists can soft-delete any of their tracks at any time. Existing licences remain valid (we don't break licences that were already paid for), but the track is removed from discovery and no new licences can be sold.

Is the music exclusive to Tracksynk?

No. Every artist on the platform is non-exclusive. They can licence the same music elsewhere, release on Spotify and Apple Music, sell it through other platforms, or take it down whenever they choose.

What's the difference between Tracksynk and a stock library?

Tracksynk is a marketplace. Artists upload their own work, set their own prices, and keep the rights. Stock libraries typically own the music (or have exclusive rights), have flat subscription pricing, and feature work-for-hire tracks made specifically for the library.

Tracksynk also has no AI-generated music, no royalty-free filler, and no work-for-hire mills behind the catalogue.

How fast does CustomSynk turn around?

As fast as 24 hours from initial enquiry to delivered agreement and payment. Some bespoke deals take longer if the brief is complex or if rights need verification, but 24h is the floor for straightforward bookings.

Do you support artists in [my country]?

Probably. Stripe Express is currently available in 15 countries: US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Ireland, Germany, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Singapore, Austria, Brazil. If your country isn't on the list, you can still have an account and licence music as a buyer, but you can't yet receive payouts as an artist.

We're working on expanding the supported list.

Is there a free trial / subscription / membership?

No subscription, no membership. You pay per licence. That's it. No monthly minimums.

Can I get a custom price?

For sync tiers (IndieSynk and StudioSynk) the artist sets the price and we don't negotiate it down. If a track is too expensive for your budget, browse for similar work at a lower price point, or reach out for CustomSynk (per-deal pricing on the bespoke tier).

What happens if a track gets a Content ID claim on my video?

If you legitimately licensed the track through Tracksynk and a claim still lands, forward us the claim ID and your video URL. We pass it to the artist and their distributor, who can clear the claim from their end. Usually resolved within 24 to 48 hours.

Do I need to credit the artist?

It's not required for most uses (the licence covers your right to use the music) but it's always appreciated. Credit also helps the artist build their sync portfolio, which feeds back into the platform.

How do I get my music onto Tracksynk?

Submit a link to existing public work (Spotify, SoundCloud, Bandcamp, your own site) through the "apply for the roster" form on the homepage or For Artists page. An admin reviews and decides, usually within a working day. Approved artists get an email with next steps.
